1. Clos Du Val Napa Valley Merlot 2006 - Clos Du Val's Merlot is comprised of approximately 65% estate Stags Leap District fruit, with the remaining from neighboring Napa Valley vineyards. The winery's Merlot is full bodied with soft, silky tannins.

A lovely Merlot, showing a French influence in its Bordeaux-like delicacy and earthiness. Feels elegant in the mouth, a supple, lightly oaked wine with layers of cherries, tobacco, cedar and sage. Good value.

2. Matchbook Chardonnay Dunnigan Hills Old Head Chardonnay 2008 - Matchbook Chardonnay is more European in style in that the oak levels are restrained, alcohols are reduced and the wine is fermented dry. The Chardonnay from the Matchbook Vineyard adds tropical fruit aromas and flavors; the barrel fermentation contributes creamy, honey flavors and roundness to the texture. The Russian River Valley fruit adds casaba melon, Pippen apple flavors and slatey mineral undertones. The Viognier adds lovely honeysuckle aromas and the tiny touch of fruit sweetness that makes this wine so appealing.
Editors' Choice - Wine Enthusiast. The '08 Matchbook is a very nice Chardonnay marked by crisp dryness & fine structure; offers a nice array of pineapples, peaches, apricots, smoky vanilla.

3. Rivarey 2006 Tempranillo - This wine has a deep ruby color and aromas of black berry, cherry and citrus zest. This is a medium bodied wine with a modern style of fresh fruit, crisp acidity and smooth tannins. The flavors are dominated by raspberry, black plum, kiwi and holiday spice. There is no evidence of oak, but the smooth tannins are complimented by some marshmallow and black pepper. The finish is velvety and quite long.

4. Pacific Rim Columbia Valley Riesling 2009 - As wine lovers crave alternatives to heavy and oaky white wines, Riesling is experiencing a true revival (like a phoenix rising from the ashes - the inspiration for our label artwork). Portraying bright crispness, subtle sweetness and aromas of jasmine, pear and apple, the wine exemplifies the harmony of Riesling. The sweetness plays wonderfully with fiery fare (from Thai to Mexican), while the natural acidity stands up to richer foods (from French to German).
